A New Day 20 – Feb 8 What is this?
My Project 365 A New Day image for 8 Feb is the result of a change of state. (I had this prepared for yesterday but my site was down on WordPress so I had to wait.) Can you guess what this is?
Still don’t know? Probably not… Try this one:
But here’s a great question: Is this really edible?
This series of images is another example of the extraordinary ordinary as well as further proof that when you’re an artist – whether starting out (like me) or professional like my fellow blogger Bella Remy Photography – you must have your personal creative lens (A.K.A. your eyes) always ready and watching. This…whatever it is ( 😉 ) was an exciting find for me, and a surprise at that. The first image does not have any special effects or filters added to it. Rather I didn’t have my flash on thus the dark appearance. Then in Photoshop (Creative Cloud edition) I turned the exposure up some, increased the contrast and clarity and WHALA! As you can see in the other photos, the metallic shiny characteristic is present in the mystery subject. Oh yes and I used my macro 100mm lens for these pictures.
I most especially like the texture and dimension of this subject. As for the other images I still did not apply any masks, filters, or special effects. I fiddled with my Aperture, Flash, Flash speeds, vibrance, exposure, highlights and shadows, clarity, and some other basic raw edit characteristics. The original subject is not as yellow as most the photos but not quite as orange as the third photo. The second silvery, metallic image is a slightly darker image of the outer edges of the subject.
Go ahead, take a guess, leave a comment are you up to the test?
