A New Day – 13 – Up close & extraordinary: Glitter, wait snow

A New Day – 13 – Up close & extraordinary: Glitter, wait snow

These are some of the images I was inspired to take Saturday evening. I love how snow looks like glitter in the late evening, very early morning streetlights and how it sparkles on the ground. Not all of the pictures cooperated in being uploaded at the time so I will post more later. But here ya go, we’ve got some macro shots of the snowflakes; I used a 100mm macro lens that I can thank my little brother and father for.

Like the others this is a macro shot of an individual flake reflecting the front door light.

Absolutely! I’m glad you enjoyed these. I was super happy and grateful to have been able to capture them. They’re kind of surreal. But these are in fact actual snowflakes. All of the images I took with my 100mm macro lens and a few of them, including the additional photos post, were taken using a star-filter because I wanted to see how that would turn out. However that didn’t have quite the effect I had hoped for. The shapes you see then are definitely the real thing. I did some post-production work in Photoshop to zoom and crop and a few of them wanted some help with exposure and contrast. All in all a very rewarding session for sure.

      Take care,
      eLPy
